Caroline is a Chartered Town Planner with experience in both local government and consultancy.  Caroline founded Chave Planning to help people and organisations navigate the planning system.

She started her career in 1999 at Rushcliffe Borough Council in Nottinghamshire, before moving to Andrew Martin Associates, which later became part of Capita Symonds, in 2006. Caroline has experience of working on a range of projects within the East Midlands and further afield and has good relationships with many of the East Midlands local authorities.

Caroline has delivered results on strategic residential and commercial projects, including urban extensions for thousands of new homes and major business parks. This has involved promotion of sites through the strategic planning process, coordination of Environmental Impact Assessment, major programmes of community consultation, submission of planning applications and acting as expert witness at public inquiries.Caroline has had successes on a variety of smaller projects across the sectors, using her knowledge of the planning process and political dimension.  Her expertise in community engagement and consultation can be applied to all sectors of development and her current work involves managing planning projects covering the full range of sectors and guiding major proposals through the complex planning process to delivery.
